Ted Turner suffers arm fracture, other injuries

Ted Turner, founder of CNN, suffered an arm fracture, dislocated elbow and sprained wrist while attempting to pat himself on the back during an interview with Christianne Armanpour in front of horrified CNN employees during a part of CNN's 25th anniversary celebrations. Turner, possibly harkening back to Jack Palance's celebrated one-arm pushups at an Oscar awards ceremony several years ago, suffered the injuries during exchanges with Armanpour. The wrist sprain and elbow dislocation occurred during this exchange:
"I wanted to be The New York Times of the airwaves. Not the New York Post, but The New York Times. And that's what we set out to do, and we did it."
Undaunted by the pain and with "a roguish smile" he then suffered the arm fracture during this exchange after claiming partial credit for ending the cold war:
Amanpour asked his if he honestly thought he had a hand in it.

"I'm absolutely certain I did," he said.
Get well soon, Ted.
