Mexico City: AMLO self-coronates as cartoon Napoleon

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who still cannot believe that skipping a debate and calling the president sophomoric names could have cost him Mexico's presidential election, has crowned himself "Legitimate President" of Los Estados Unidos Mexicanas.

You can't lose with me. Have you any doubt?

Salvador García Soto, political analyst, said that AMLO could have made a contribution, but "he's reduced himself to a cartoon."

Estela Livera, political reporter and host of TV and Radio shows, said "the taking of the oath of office was like a cartoon." She also said that all of the congressmen who attended the ceremony had better carry their chairs to the Zócalo and begin billing AMLO's new government for their salaries.

La Crónica: It will be a Napoleonic ceremony just as when the Corsican crowned himself emperor in 1804.
