Oaxaca, Mexico: PFP moving against Juarez University

In a laudable effort to recover control of Oaxaca de Juarez, capitol city of Oaxaca, Mexico. The federal police (PFP) are moving against Juarez University this morning. The university is the last redoubt under the control of APPO. Up until 2 days ago, some 40 of APPO's leaders, all of whom have numerous arrets warrants outstanding agaisnt them, were ensconced there.

Yesterday, the PFP moved to the northwestern edge of the city, an area called Brenamiel (Yahoo insists on calling it "Brendamiel, which is incorrect) and dispersed APPO from its blockades there. The PFP has regained control of Channel 9, the state government-owned radio and TV studios. The APPistas at the university prepared themselves for the PFP assault which they were sure would happen yesterday. The PFP gave the APPistas and pseudo-students another 24 hours to stew.

As they abandoned Channel 9, the APPistas there soaked as much equipment as they could with muriatic acid and chlorine bleach. The director of the network reviewed the installations yesterday afternoon as soon as the PFP allowed her access. She says that it will be a few days before she has firm estimates, but damage to the network in damaged and stolen equipment will run in the "millions of pesos (hundreds of thousands of dollars).
