Mother of soldier killed in Iraq objects to memorial.
What is your first thought when you see this headline? A grieving mother wants her son's name removed from a memorial to soldiers killed in Iraq? That's what I see. But that's not at all what this story is about. The mother in question, Debbie Argel Bastian, buried her son, Air Force Capt. Derek Argel, along with four of his comrades, at Arlington National Cemetery last week. She objects to her son's name appearing on anti-war memorials on a Santa Barbara beach and with Cindy Sheehan along the road to President Bush's ranch. So why doesn't the headline say that? Why doesn't the headline say,"Mother of soldier killed in Iraq objects to anti-war memorial"? Because that would not be convenient to the anti-war liberal lefties at the AP.
