Dick Morris offers an intriguing thought. If the race for the Senate seat now occupied by the Hildebeast gets too close for comfort (within 12 points), Bill and Hillary may decide to drop out of it. Westchester DA Jeanine Pirro looks capable of making a race of it. The 12 points would be the margin by which the Hildebeast won in 2000 over Rick Lazio. The problem being that a smaller victory margin this time would allow Republican presidential opponents to ask why fewer people supported her in 2006 than before. The way Morris sees it, Hillary must win by more than 12 points or her presidential aspirations would be wounded. If Bill and Hillary think that this is a real possibility, then they may bail. Interesting.
