North Korea: Per Jeffrey Lewis at Arms Control Wonk / Defensetech.org, NORK NUKE is a DUD

Jeffrey Lewis gives us more tech data than my feeble mind can fully absorb, but he says that data from the US Geological Survey indicates that the North Korean nuclear test was a complete dud. Lewis believes the data indicate that the yield was only somewhere between 200 and 1 kiloton. By comparison, the 1945 Nagasaki bomb was about 20 kilotons. In other words, somewhere between 1/100th and 1/20th the size of the 1945 bomb. In some other words, the test was a dud.

Lewis says this is the first time in history that a country failed its first nuclear test and that Kim should be crapping his pants right about now.

How bad was it? So bad that Chester wonders if it was, in fact, a hoax. What, a bundle of Chinese-made M-80's in a big hole in the ground?

Please don't let it be the North Koreans' last failure.
