Mexico may sue reservist Patrick Haab in migrant detention

If this happens, I would say that Mexican/American relations will have hit a new low.

The Mexican government is discussing the lawsuit with a human rights group based in Los Angeles, said Geronimo Gutierrez, the Mexican deputy foreign secretary for North America.

The lawsuit could argue that reserve Sgt. Patrick Haab engaged in assault or illegal detention of the immigrants or caused them mental anguish, Gutierrez said.

Question: Why is Mexico, whose very survival depends almost exclusively on the largesse of the United States, continue to jerk our chain? I live here and I do not know the answer.
