Live 8 searching for 2,940,000,000 missing viewers

Bob Geldof says 3 billion people tuned in to the Live 8 concerts. Where are they? Here are the numbers known so far:
ABC's special - 3 million
AO Livestream - 5 million
BBC broadcast - 4-9 million
French M-6 - 1.9 million
Italian broadcasts - 2 million
Canada TV - 10 million
Live crowds:
London - 205,000
Philadelphis - 150,000
Barre, Cananda - 35,000
Johannesburg - 8,000
Rome - 200,000
Berlin - 150,000
Paris - 100,000
Tokyo - 10,000
Moscow - 10,000
Text Messages sent - 26,000,000
So the total falls short of 60 million - 52,768,000 to 57,768,000. More people watch a typical Superbowl (Superbowl 2005 drew 800 million worldwide, 89 million in America alone). That leaves 2,940,000,000+ missing viewers. If you are one of these viewers, please write, phone or email Bob Geldof and tell him where you are.

Canada - 10,000,000? Must not be a lot to do in Canada these days.

And Johannesburg, South Africa, had only 8000 attend its live concert. South Africa will no doubt be receiving a big chunk of the aid money raised by the Live 8 extravaganza. Where were all the people?
Johannesburg Stadiums and Capacities
Ellis Park - 50 000
Johannesburg Stadium - 37 500
Rand Stadium - 30 000
Soccer City - 80 000
Milpark Stadium - 12 000
The Wanderers Cricket Stadium - 33 000
So, in South Africa, one of the recipients begging for aid money, only enough people showed up to 3/4 fill the city's very smallest stadium.
