The right's morale was devastated by the president's comments in a USA Today telephone interview published on the newspaper's front page Tuesday: "Al Gonzales is a great friend of mine. When a friend gets attacked, I don't like it."Novak forgets a couple of things. Bush is a Texan to whom friendship means something. Perhaps Novak is so jaded by his years in Washington that he has forgotten what a friend is. While Novak might not give a damn if one of his friends gets attacked, George Bush surely does. And he is going to say so. The other thing that Novak forgets is that the "right" respects someone who stands up for his friends. That's called morality. Get with the program, Bob. You are fast making yourself irrelevant.
