Venezuela's Hugo "The Hog" Chávez received his first shipment of weapons from Russia yesterday. The weapons are replacements for the machetes which were originally issued to the Venezuelan armed forces in 1589 by the Spanish.
Venezuelan Customs inspectors questioned the Russian's packaging expertise and Venezuelan Army procurement officers were reportedly checking the fine print on the purchasing contracts with the Russians.
Venezuelan journalists working part-time as CIA spies rush in to photograph the pickup truckload of weapons for which the Chávez government paid $2.7 billion USD.
