WILSON: My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity. Then what in heaven's name has all of this been about?
UPDATE: The NYT is reporting that they have a source "who has been briefed on the matter" who says that Karl Rove testified that he heard the name "Valerie Plame" from Robert Novak in a phone call he recieved from Novak. Novak has apparently confirmed that account and says that Rove told him, "I heard that, too."
If this is accurate, then, Karl Rove recieved two unsolicited phone calls from reporters (Novak and Cooper), both told him about Valerie Plame, and Rove played dumb. Add to this Joeseph Wilson's statement above and we have no crime, no smear campaign by Rove and some pretty foolish looking members of the MSM, the left and the Democratic Party.
