Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods

Two great American athletes are doing their thing in spite of the Karl Rove brouhaha, although I am sure they are checking in frequently to get the latest who-said-what.

Armstrong leads the Tour de France by 38 seconds over the number 2 rider and by 4 minutes over his most dangerous opponent, Jan Ullrich. After 13 of the 21 stages of the race it seems almost a foregone conclusion that Armstrong will win his unprecedented 7th consecutive Tour.

In Britain, Tiger Woods shot a 67 today to pair with his 66 yesterday to hold a 4 shot lead over Colin Montgomery. Montgomery shot 66 today to gain one shot on Woods but started the day 5 shots back. Woods' round was bogey free and he missed a short putt that would have given him yet another birdie. He is playing scarily well and if it continues he will be untouchable.
